is it possible to do vedio conferencing without using internet with the help of mikrotik..at a distnace of 12 Km

Site(A)-----“Mikrotik”<=============>Mikrotik------Site(B)

NOTE:

  1. air distance between site(A) & site(B) = 12 km
  2. Also there are 34 CCTV cameras at site(A), can we see the cameras at site(B)
  3. what tools and hardware are required?

THIS SETUP IS TO BE DONE WITHOUT INTENERT

knock knock…no replies yet.

Your first step is to think of your network as a LAN (Local Network). Of course you can do both with your network.

For the videoconferencing give Ekiga a try (http://www.gnomemeeting.org/).
For the cameras you can just use the same software you use in the network the cameras are mounted. If they are plain CCTV cameras and are connected directly to a VCR, then you can check if that VCR has IP streaming. If not upgrade to a newer VCR.

dear wireless12.

a good solution seems http://www.vmukti.com/ . It has a server, as well as a client software. Everything seems right, but i don’t have the time to test it. You can just download and test it in your lab network. It is open source, so free…

Let me know
