Hi have a verizon dsl modem set to transparent bridge mode. It is connected to the mikrotik router. The mikrotik gives out addressees in the 192.168.1.1 range only. Whenever I have the modem connected, I am getting addresses in the 192.168.0.1 range. I am certain the modem is in bridge mode. Why is this happening?
This is really annoying. I can’t figure it out. Somehow, the only thing I can think of is the modem is giving out 192.168.0 address range. This would mean it’s not really bridged? Has anyone ever had this problem with DSL? It’s not ppoe, it’s a connection just like a cable modem. You don’t need to do anything in the mikrotik, it just gets the public ip.
Any help is appreciated. I’m going out of my mind!
