This is PTMP link, The access point using 3com PCI card and working @ 2332mhz, The antenna on ap site is slot waveguide which about 17db and horizontal polarization. The client side using WRAP board with mpci CM9 using 24db grid antenna.
The Noise about -102db , and here is the detail of the client in registration table.
The question is why the rx-ccq showing only 21% while the tx-ccq can reach 100%. and what i can do to tune the rx-ccq to reach higher value ? Is there any miss configuration or hardware issue ?
hi.. thanks for replying… if there is to many interference why the noise value -102db ?? -102 suppose to be very low interference ? i already try to fix the antenna aligment… but the CCQ not changing. The data i provide you is get from the access point registration table.
It has been reported several times that the noise level shown by MikroTik does only show 802.11 signals. It’s very well possible that you do have other (also strong) interference around there your MikroTik will not be able to identify.
The only possibility is to use a spectrum analyzer…

with this data given which showing 100% ttx CCQ and very low RX CCQ, so the conclusion is the interference is on the client side or on the AP site ?
Prism chipsem doesn’t show noise floor correctly and it always shows -106dBm as noise floor. It very possible that your clients recieve much noise from other networks and of course from other radio applications that use 2,4 GHZ frequencies. Change channel to less busy to avoid low CCQ if you have any other free.
I have to question that. Maybe the level of intereference I get is so strong it shows up, but I can tell you for certain, mine shows noise and there isn’t anyone else in my area that even knows how to set up a 900MHz 802.11 card. I’m picking up noise from below the 900MHz band, licensed frequency. I can see it in frequency usage and snooping.
It depends on particular card. I guess you don’t use Prism based card @ 900MHZ, rather Atheros which is totally different chipset and of course support noise floor as well. I’ve never tried to use 900MHZ frequecies due to current telecommunication law (i’m from poland) but ist quite strange that your card reports usage @ 900MHZ cause my Atheros (5213) card running @ 2400MHZ doesn’t report freq. usage when other wireless devices run such as radio line telephone (very popular here). I think that Atheros report only something that is quite similar to 802.11 frames in Freq. Usage window and doesn’t see interferences from analog systems.
It has to do alot with the amplifiers used on the cards.
It would appear that most amplifiers have poor out of channel rejection.
In other words, a radio in the same band, but on a different channel can have adverse effects on the amplifiers performance, without the chipset realizing the problem.
Tranzeo’s, I hate to say it, have perhaps the best channel rejection.
