Very slow 2.4Ghz Wifi

Hello Everyone, my first post here, hoping to get some info

I got a Mikrotik rb962UiGS-5HacT2HnT that I’m running as a home AP. It got the lastet OS / Firmware (6.44.3 ), and has been running fine for about 2 years.

Last week I noticed there was a problem with Wifi on the 2.4Ghz band. My provider gives me 100 / 10 on my fibre link, but If i connect any device to the 2.4 wifi net, i get about 1 - 2mbps down (sometimes peaking at 12), and a pretty stable 10Mbps upload. If i connect any device to the 5Ghz network i get the full 100 / 10 without issues.

This didn’t use to be the case, I used to get about 70 / 10 on the 2.4 network, so I’m wondering if a recent update has messed things up? My setup is a very standard “Home Dual AP” setup with different network names for the 2.4 / 5 network.

Anyone else with similar issues, fixes?

Thanks

Try and scan your location for other APs.
If you have Android, try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ubnt.usurvey
If it was fine until now, maybe some new AP is causing interference.
Change your channel to a less crowded one. Disable Extension Channel for 2.4 Ghz. Might help.

A “general issue” based on?
I have never seen this issue on any of my Mikrotik APs.
This is a forum. When “But thankfully it has been resolved” is usually nice to say how it has been resolved, so the next person might find such info.
