I have the following network configuration at home: Fiber comes into the house, connecting through an Ethernet cable to my Mikrotik RB1100. Upstairs I have a Fritz!Box which acts as a router for my cabled network upstairs. It connects via WLAN to the Mikrotik router. The problem I am having is that downloads on computers behind that Fritz!Box are very slow, slow enough to make a grown man cry. Speedtests indicate a maximum download speed of less than 1 mbps. Upload speeds are about 25-30 mbps, and more in line with what I’d expect.
Other computers connecting directly via WLAN to the Mikrotik router all have good download speeds.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I should mention that prior to last week, another Fritz!Box had he role that the Mikrotik has now, and I got decent speeds upstairs then. The configuration of the Fritz!Box upstairs has not changed. The Fritz!Box shows a connection to the Mikrotik router at about 220 to 268 mbps.
I have tried turning WMM on/off on the Fritz!Box, but this has not resolved the issue for me.
Any suggestions are very welcome indeed!
