Very slow upload when download is sustained

Hi,

I noticed that the upload speed goes way down(from 128KB/s to 15KB/s), when the PC maintains a sustained download of ~200KB/s or more. I’m using a RB450G with NAT, for 2 PCs. The other PC is turned off.
The RB450G’s CPU stays under 10% with rare bursts up to 20%. RouterOS Firewall shows ~2000connections(emule uses lots of connections).

What can I do about this?

Please help.

Any ideas what could cause this behaviour?

what is your ISP speed that you purchase? If it’s asymmetrical then thats how it works, if you max out the download the upload suffers.

It’s not ADSL. My ISP uses FTTB.

so your speed is the same going up as it is down? at least it’s supposed to be?

My speed is like this:
2mbps down/1mbps up external
100mbps up/down metropolitan

Maybe your bandwidth is controlled by ISP. As you wrote earlier you are emule user and some ISPs don’t like p2p.

Regards, Grzegorz.

if you are downloading 2mbps then you will not get 1mbps up… you could try to limit your download to 1200 - 1800kbps and see if that helps.
