I had to connect my part of lan (second building) using EOIP tunnel, so I have created PPTP server on main mikrotik, and PPTP client on remote, and created on that EOIP tunnel, then on two sites I added LAN interfaces and eoip interfaces to bridge. So in bridge LAN is root port and eoip is designated port.
On main mikrotik I have configured on LAN interface (proxy-arp for l2tp users) but after adding this eoip I have very strange behaviour on mikrotik on main site, Internet connection is very laggy www sites are not loading (but pings working), some of program using in LAN can’t connect to Internet.
I didn’t touch anything (routing, nat etc) on mail mikrotik where is default gateway to internet.
Where could be a problem?
Could be related to MTU, post exports of both routers.
Not sure if you’re using the best approach, why use a EoIP inside PPTP for a LAN on an adjacent building? Isn’t VLAN possible?
Did you find a solution?
I have the same problem and I’m about to post a new entry with the entire information…
But in few words, I made a 3 locations tunnel with eoip over pptp, everything is working, I can ping every end… My problem is in one side,as soon as I add the eoip interface to the bridge, I can’t have access to some web sites or services, Netflix, battle.net, speedtest, none of these works, but if I disable the eoip interface for the bridge port, I get all the services back.
Thanks
