Viewing route info via SNMP

Hi,

I’ve been using Dude SNMP probes to check the gateway for certain routes on my core routers. I use this to get an alert/outage notification when a route changes to the non-preferred gateway (i.e. link failure of some sort and OSPF routes away from it). On version 5 everything is fine but on Version 6 I can’t seem to get this info via SNMP.

I’ve been using SNMP queries like iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.ip.ipRouteTable.ipRouteEntry.ipRouteNextHop.172.20.0.35 and checking that it returns the IP address of the primary gateway. All good for V5, no good for V6 (the query doesn’t work at all).

Does anyone know if there’s a new OID for routes?

Regards,

Dave

This is now really starting to hurt my network monitoring and outage notifications. Can anyone tell me how to monitor routes in ROS v6?

I just upgraded a RB750 from v5 to v6. I also have lost this functionality.

The OID is 1.3.6.1.2.1.4.21.1.7 - ipRouteNextHop.

I can confirm they exist on ROS v5 but not on ROS v6. I walked the entire tree and even added the Mtik MIBs and couldn’t find a credible replacement.

I really need this functionality back.
