Virtual AP and WDS

I have a Routerboard532 with 2.9.20 and SR2 Atheros card. I am looking to setup a Virtual AP under the main SR2 interface. Now on the main wlan1 interface, I am using PPPoE; so I am not bridging it with the backhaul interface. But I need to be able to put the Virtual AP in a bridge and enable WDS on it. Basically, I want to just use it to feed a couple of small repeater sites and using wds bridging with them, and yes I am doing all this with one radio/antenna. So my question is can you enable WDS on a sub-interface even though the parent interface doesn’t have it. Here is an example:

WLAN1 < - SR2 Card, not part of any bridge (clients are using PPPoE on it)
OmniToRemotes ← Virtual AP sub int, part of a bridge, need WDS on it

Will this work?

Yes, this will work. I have a similar setup running, though not between two AP doing WDS but between a Virtual AP doing WDS (with WDS off on the master wlan interface) and a client doing station-wds.

Thanks Tom. I just got it to work. Very slick. I’ve just recently been using the Virtual AP feature. So far, I’m very impressed with what it can do.
