Virtual AP problems when master under high traffic

I have basic a PtMP setup with all Mikrotik devices, ap-bridge and multiple station-bridge connected to it with nstreme protocol, bridged traffic between PPPoE server and customers.
AP running 6.40.4, stations running various versions from 6.37.5 to 6.40.4, standard WPA2-PSK AES security. It works fine.
Later added wlan2 as a Virtual AP with different SSID/password, all of ether1/wlan1/wlan2 in the same bridge.
Most of the stations connected to wlan1, with a lot of traffic.
In the evenings when there is high traffic on wlan1 (master), stations connected to wlan2 (VAP) work very poorly (high packet loss, disconnects).
Moved that station to wlan1 and it works fine again (different SSID/password only, everything else is the same).
Is this a known bug, or feature (master has high priority over VAPs)?
