I like a lot MT’s Virtual AP feature. It helps me a lot. I am thnking of using something lite it but on plain ethernet interface. I tried with VLAN but it seems not it.
Ia there a way to create virtual ethernet interface on top of physical one, that would work as usual interface?
Try looking at EoIP (Ethernet over IP) that allows you to create additioanl virtual interfaces, but you have to have an other MT router the other end to connect to it.
Try explaining what you’re trying to achieve.
It sounds to me like VLANs are the answer, but maybe you just haven’t got it configured correctly.
I want simply to have virutal LAN interfaces on single MT.
I also thought VLAN can do that but VLAN does not work that way (at least not for me). When I create VLAn I cannot connect anything to it. I even tried to conenct other computer directly using cross UTP. Connection among adapters is establsihed, but no traffic can go. It seems VLAN works only through manageable switch.
