I have a client that has a hotspot running on v3.16 and reports came in that vista clients could not access internet. Under further investigation it seemed that the vista clients weir NOT obtaining a lease from the hotspot mikrotik (Setup as dhcp server), however ALL other clients successfully obtained leases and weir able to logon to the hotspot.
While watching the DHCP leases and renewing the address on a vista client i could see that the mikrotik was picking up the client, and lease was issued, however never went further than state “offered” and NEVER reaches state “bound”.
Disabling the hotspot did NOT remedy the lease situation, neither did upgrading to v3.22.
I have similar problem. I have Mikrotik router, with two IP ranges assigned to the same lan interface. I have one DHCP server and it assigns IP addresses from both IP ranges. IP’s from one range are assigned dynamically, and IP’s from other range are only static.
Vista can get IP from dynamic IP range, but if I assign IP from static range it won’t get it.. Any other computer which is not Vista can get IP from both ranges.
Problem is most of these solutions either suggest modifying the client which for obvious reasons is impossible under hotspot environment or modifying the server which in mikrotik case is not supported.
Only thing i can find concerning broadcast regarding mikrotik is the setting “Always Broadcast” which ive tried on and off to no joy.
Any more advice?

Several threads with this topic end up as a dead end. Is there a router side solution to this issue? We are running 5.14 on a AH593 and have multiple clients, mostly vista, but some Windows 7 and XP with this issue.
