Three things I want to combine together.
I would like to have my cable modem connected to port 1, an ESXi sever running on port 2.
And all other ports and wireless bridged together.
Now for testing I am running ESXi as a vmhost in vm workstation bridge mode.
I would like to set up 2 vlans let’s say vlan100 for the LAN
And vlan200 for the DMZ and right now port 2 would have 2 vlans so I can make the ESXi will look like it has 2 nics, for my sophos utm.
Then set it up so my hosts on the LAN will go through the sophos to get to the internet. At this time the only thing in the DMZ would be the external interface for the Sophos and the routeros ip for now.
So I want to do all kinds of things like routing, dhcp, vlan, bridging, trunking, and tagging where do I start?
