VLAN Issues

Hi Guys

Have been having an issue getting my vlanning going.

I have always struggled with VLANs on Mik and I cannot really tell you why.

Anyway I am looking at using this separate VLAN for a DMZ.

From my Cisco I have configured a switchport trunk with the required VLAN allowed and then the VLAN on my VM.

If I put an IP on the VLAN on my Mikrotik which is connected to my Cisco, I can ping it from the VM.

The issue is that when I try and turn the another port into an access port which will then lead to a break out it breaks.

Basically what I am trying to achieve is the following.

I have a /29 that is accessible on our provider edge, I have configured Eth1 with the first IP and pointed the default IP at the gateway from the provider, all working and I have internet access.

What I then have is one cable going to the second port of my provider edge, which has access to the /29 gateway on the edge, and then another link going ot the Cisco.

What I want to do is have the port from the provider edge untagged on my VLAN and then Tagged on the port that goes to the Cisco.

I have read all the guides and feel like a bit of a spesh because I don’t seem to be understanding something.

Any help would be appreciated.
