VLAN problem

PROBLEM DEFINITION
I’m unable to get trunking working on the Mikrotik RG260 switches with version 1.10 firmware. I have tried to follow the work of Steve Discher, in his document “SwOS/SWOS-802.1Q-TrunkTwoSwitches”, 11-27-12, but without success.

CONCEPT
-2 VLAN’s. Each VLAN only see’s it’s own traffic.
-Both RG260 switches have some devices for each VLAN.
-VLAN 11 (green VLAN) has IP range 192.168.0.0 (Secure wire only LAN)
-VLAN 12 (blue VLAN) has IP range 192.168.10.0 (insecure traffic for visitors and WiFi users)

The problem may be come clearer with the block drawing and screen prints from the attached PDF.

Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated.

Your config is wrong.

If Port 5 is your trunking port, it have to be a member of the vlans.

Tab “VLANs” Port 5 is not a member of 11, 1 and 12.

Also Switch Upstairs… Port 1 is not a member of 11, 1 and 12.
