I have remote users connected to a switch, the switch connected to an RB433, backhauled to the next RB433. it connected to my core switch then out through the router to the world. My switches and routers are setup on VLAN (VOIP and Data). No matter what I have tried I can only get data going one way (Tx only). I have IPs assigned to the VLANs, when I add them to the bridge all kinds of wacky things start happening, I believe the cause of my recent high packet loss on every device on my network was caused by this. As soon as I disconnected the M/T, everything cleared up. It only took about an hour or so for this issue to show up after dropping the VLANs into the bridge. The VOIP phones are supposed to contact its own server and pull the IP in its VOIP’s range. I am getting the VOIP to pull the IP in the Data VLAN range. AS I said I get data only going one way on the VLANs, it goes both ways on the Ethernet port that the VLANs are tied too. Does any one have a fairly simple step by step setup procedure? I have searched this Wiki and I get the basics. I found another entry and verified that is what I had done, still did not work.
Here is the setup I have:
WLAN and Ethernet bridged. Static IP for radio assigned to Bridge:
Created VLANs under Ethernet port and assigned separate IP subnets (/24) to each
Routing showed that everything was reachable.
When I added VLANs to bridge, that is when things would go wrong. I couldn’t connect to M/T anymore and had to reset to default. Sudden high packet loss on entire network (coincidence?), error from switches:
002763: Dec 20 05:06:38.527: %SPANTREE-2-BLOCK_PVID_LOCAL: Blocking FastEthernet0/47 on VLAN0080. Inconsistent local vlan.
As I said I am pulling an IP for the VOIP from the wrong subnet.
