VLAN tag not working

Does anybody know why this doesn’t work?

RB450G, created VLAN 4080 assigned to interface Ether5 using webfig.

from RB450G, unable to ping the far end device on vlan 4080.
If the far end device is untagged it becomes reachable over Ether5.

Did you move the IP address over to the VLAN? Each VLAN is treated as it’s own separate routed interface. There are no concepts of a tagged or untagged port in Linux and therefore MikroTik.
