VLAN tagging

Hi,
I have just purchased a Mikrotik Routerboard
Model RB750Gr3
I have hybrid fibre broadband in New Zealand and I am trying to get it on the internet. Its POE
I have connected it to the modem.
I entered the Static IP and DNS’s that Vodafone gave me but I get a DNS error when I try and connect to the internet.
Vodafone say I need to configure VLAN tagging but I cannot find a setting like that in the device.

Also am I supposed to change the IP address of the router. The router default is 192.168.88.1
My previous router’s IP was 192.168.1.1

Thanks
Ford

Normally you would:
You’ll need to create a new vlan interface on-top-of the interface to vodafone. When doing so you can specify the vlan tag.
In routing table you’ll need to define default route, to the gateway ip given to you.

BUT
By POE, you probably mean PPPoE, which is yet another interface and will configure ip stack dynamically, and which is a different thing than static ip.

=> so which one is it?

The 88 network is internal network, and it will assign ip’s via dhcp from that range. There is no need to modify it, but you can if you prefer.
