VLAN Untagging

Newbie here…

I have a RB532 with level 3. Can this unit untag VLAN? If so, where can I find the settings?

(I have a 3COM switch that I can use for untagging, but I was hoping to do it all in one box.)

Many thanks!

I tend to use miktotik for tagging instead of untagging (easier to install a switch than lots of ethernet ports).

A rb532 can handle vlans fine. You would have one ethernet take the tagged traffic, and the other two ethernets would handle untagged traffic. Each of those ethernets should be bridged to the appropriate vlan in the mikrotik to make it work.

Thanks for the reply. My configuration is a bit awkward…

I need to use multicast over Motorola Canopy. As the Canopy functions like a layer 2 bridge, multicast floods the network. As a workaround, I have multiple Motorola Canopy subscriber units tagging their incoming ethernet traffic with different VLAN IDs.

I need to “recombine” all these VLANs back to one LAN, so I am attempting to use the Mikrotik filtering to allow the traffic to “flow in one direction” to prevent the multicast from backfeeding (flooding) back into the wireless.
