VLAN

They are really easy to set up, but the portion of tagged vs untagged is very difficult to handle.

What I tried to do what to use a particular VLAN for my VOIP phone. I could do it, I could put it in his own VLAN. But when I did this, I was only able to access it from my router, all my others ports were unable to access it. I presume that it was a problem of tagging and untagging, but from there, I was unable to find a way to communicate with it.

I tried a lot of settings… first, should I remove the default switch of the initial config and create two vlans ? Really I was unsure of what to do, even the initial config is a bit mysterious since you have to specify the ports that belong to a master port.

Why does individual port that are not part of the switch could not access the Internet nor the DHCP server? I had to push the reset button so many times ) Maybe I should learn more about text configuration so that I could easily copy paste from my computer by doing micro changing in the config and validating if it’s working or not.

So my setup is pretty simple: port 1 gateway, port 2-3-4 switching, port 5 must have IP telephony with a VLAN voice that my phone is tagging.
