Hello guys,
i am pretty fammiliar with VLANs concept and have experience configuring them on Cisco devices but i bit struggle to wrap my head around VLANs on RouterOS also ill admit mine situation is specific.
I have two RouterOS routers, hapAX3 and hapAX lite - hapAX3 will be main router where i would have double NAT or bridge to the ISP and Internet and hapAX lite will be acting as Access point for IoT VLAN only - for now im good with two VLAN’s - mgmt VLAN might come later, for now i dedicated single physical port which is not part of the bridge to the MGMT activities via physical link only - but further expansion is expected in the future.
Mine first problem is to wrap a head around multiple ways to configure VLAN’s within RouterOS, i can see VLAN’s in the Switch section within RouterOS also via bridge and intrefaces, this is something what confuses me.
2nd one is the obvious - i am guessing i only need to add VLAN for IoT onto the bridge and interconnect AX3 and AX lite via cable but i tried trunk but it does not work, DHCP also does not work, i guess i can make interconnect port as an Access port and make AX lite act like and end device with Access Point capability but this seems to me very simple solution.
Any help is appreciated, thank you
