You need to state what will be your average throughput and your peak maximum throughput.
What will the be doing ? ( PPoE , high throughput , thousands of connections , will this be router for an ISP or for home use. ) What is the desired life span of the hardware , will the load / throughput double every year ? What is the speed of your switch 1-Gig , 10-Gig , 100-Gig ? What is your budget ( cheap as possible or do it the fastest best possible way ?
