VMWARE CHR - XZ Data is corrupt System Halted

I have the same issue

I am running CHR with DUDE Server on a VMWARE environment. and backups are made with Nakivo DAILY.
It has worked fine since the last 4/5 years… now after a warm reboot it says XZ-compressed data is corrupt and system is halted at boot.

I tried to restore different backup from the last 3/4 days but it’s the same.
At the end I have restored a backup from august 12 (before Upgrading to 7.15.3 and it starts.

Now i am trying to reboot the original VM because we use DUDE to monitor and configure all infrastructure and all customers we manage.
So even if the working backup it’s only 10 days ago, much things have been added in these days and I need the original machine to start again.

Is there a solution?

Today I have same problem
Suddenly system down and can’t boot with message
“XZ-compressed data is corrupt
– System halted”

Virt env is Proxmox

I’m seeing the same error. We just tried stair-stepping from 6.48.6 to 6.49.13 to 7.12.1 to 7.15.3. Using VM Snapshots, we reverted to 7.12.1 and it seems to be stable.
