Hello people! I have a problem with installing the virtual machine in vmware workstation pro, I have tried everything and it always gives me the same error
readMBR: could not open /dev/mtdblock2: 2
Does anyone know how to solve it?
I have windows 11
and I am using version 7.15.2 of RouterOS

If you’re installing it, then it looks like x86 version, which is meant for physical hardware. I’d expect it to work anyway, at least previous versions did. But you probably want CHR.
I am getting the same error on PCEngines APU, which is HW target:
system (depends on nothing):
Main package with most of services and drivers
Reading: system-7.15.3…Creating partitions…+(7545 MB)…
Formatting ‘RouterOS’ 100%ng ‘RouterOS’
Formatting ‘RouterOS Boot’ 100%
.readMBR: could not open /dev/mtdblock18: 2
open /dev/panics failedSoftware installed.
Rebooting…
I tried installing routeros v6 and it doesn’t fail there.
however, it does not allow to select the HD and install itself over the installation media, I think.
But it seems to be working, thou I cant log in or ping… seems to boot up and beeps twice.
Also, i wrote the image to the target msata device, and seems to be all ok.
just need to find out how to access it.

experienced the same problem with V7.x…also with newest 6.49 version…but worked with 6.49.11… but maybe this was just luck and there were writing errors before ?
maybe it’s best to avoid UEFI-calamities with V7 … flash a V6-version then upgrade to V7
after install there is absolute no config … no auto-setup-script … no 192.168.88.1… and the board is totally numb, exept the serial-console on ttyS0 (9600/8/N/1)
eventually it’s possible to work around with a script … ? … but I wouldn’t know how to activate it in the first place … maybe there is a special name “autosetup.rsc” wse … ( but that sounds a little bit like a security NoNo )
