Hello everyone.
I have a mikrotik switch CRS and 3 cisco ip phones connected between the mikrotik switch and the PCs both the ip phones and the PCs are in different Vlans. Can anyone tell me how to configure the voice vlan on the switch?
I would love to see this work also.
Can anyone tell me how to configure the voice vlan on the switch?
well, basically all vlan (voice or data) are the same thing vlan.
but, if you were asking about dynamic vlan port assignment - then hopefully MT will provide those features in the future (or maybe its already there in the wiki?)
hope this helps.
While it would be useful to see an LLDP-MED based auto-voice VLAN like other brands, on some CRS models you could use a switch rule to catch the phones. Most manufacturers would only have a couple of MAC prefixes. On the older ones, you’d need to enter the MAC address for every phone.
Newer versions of RouterOS 6 & 7 support LLDP-MED, see https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Neighbor+discovery#Neighbordiscovery-Discoveryconfiguration
The problem is that when the phone boots up it doesn’t get the correct ip address ![]()
and you have lldp-med configured? post your config.
Yes the lldp-med is enabled and configured with the right Vlan.
