Voltage fluctuation

Hi, since a few days I noticed a drop in voltage on one of my Grooves at ca. 5pm every day. Does that mean that the device is using more power at that time? Or is it because of the electrical installation?

If it is an unregulated power supply, it is probably due to daily mains voltage variations. Highest voltage is around 4am, and the lowest is around 4pm.

Thanks.

It can be temperature related when it’s hot voltage sensor begin to be “not accurate”
I’ve made a test about that on RB433AH

Also in some case lets say if u have wlan on some board when it’s active “in time when sending data to clients” wlan is draining more power - voltage sensor may show less

I have almost same reading on all RBs

I also thought it to be temperature/sun related for some reason. anyway, thanks for your insight.

these are not measuring devices so they are not that accurate. Newer RouterBOARD products use different measuring chain and are not that susceptible to temperature changes.

The temperature would not explain why I get these same variations. My RB433AH is inside in the a/c under almost no client load. The temperature only varies a couple degrees. Mine is caused by the daily mains power variation.
