Why can’t you guys sample the B+ coming in so we can check it every once in a while to see if we got too much voltage drop, especially when we are running new lines. Would be a nice addition to tools. I had a incident the other day where I had installed a AP on the side of a
water tank. Took it to the top, which took about 40 more feet. AP kept booting and then reboot, I thought I had a bad connector and after two extra trips up the tower, it dawned on me that it might voltage drop. Replaced the 18vdc ps with a 24 volt one and it took off. If I had a way to sample the voltage before I replaced it, I probably could have seen I was close to threshold. If near threshold, voltage read out should blink or flash red. Good idea or not?
There are RouterBOARDs, which report current voltage by /system health. There is even SNMP support for it. RouterBOARD.com page shows Voltage Monitor=Yes for every RouterBOARD, which supports it.
Great! Many thanks!
