Voucher location

I’ve been reading all the posts on vouchers but still unsure as to where to place my newly created voucher html file.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

I’m currently using a RB450G setup with the hotspot software controlling 4 x Netgear WNAP210 and 3 UniFi AP.
I’ve setup remote access to the RB450G but can not see the location in the file area in winbox.

Vouchers for RouterOS Hot Spots are normally created and managed by UserManager. It is a seperate package in RouterOS that you can load onto your RB450G. Also includes a RADIUS server for AAA of Hot Spot users. This resides all on the same unit.

We use the User Manager package on 750GL and RB1100 systems and it is pretty neat.

Now if your trying to use your own voucher system, I.E users get redirected to an external system for generation, you would place any custom HTML file into the root hotspot folder (Or whatever folder you told the HotSpot to use). However I am unsure how you expect to manage these vouchers between disparate systems. Your voucher generator would have to talk back to RouterOS to create the user account that is being allowed by the voucher.

Possibly could be done, but UserManager is far easier and well suited for that exact function, in my opinion anyway.

Hope these links help point you in the right direction. Mikrotik Wiki has tons of how-tos for user manager.

I had read the info in those location but none actually say where the location of the voucher are stored or how to edit them.

I found that it was as simple as logging on to user manager selecting settings then templates.
I then added my new html file and now have a better template for the client

Glad you were able to find it, Sorry I didn’t gather from your first post you already had User Manager installed.

This is my first MikroTik router and it replace a Zyxel G-4100 Hotspot controller. The Zyxel was over 3 years old and started to reboot at odd times.
This RB450G and the hotspot/user manager software is just great. Client had more than 20 user on last night without any issues. The Zyxel would have reboot at least 3 time …

Will be using these again.

Much better software and cheaper…

Ha, I have used quite a lot of ZyXEL gear, 3012, 4012, 4528 etc. No telling how many issues I have dealt with, including random reboots.

But yes, as far as Mikrotik is concerned, absolutely no debate.
