I want to setup an VOWIFI for my Iphone. which mean I need WIFI VPN connection back to my home country.
I have an foreign country Android phone with foreign data card, which will resolve to an foreign country IP address, so I plan to add an cap lite to provide an VPN tunnel to my home mikrotik 962, also provide an WIFI connection for my iphone.
so is Andriod phone ↔ CAP lite (wlan1) ↔ VPN (Virtual interface) ↔ iphone.
Want to know if it is possible or not?
Post a diagram, I don’t fully understand your idea.
In the event of being possible, I seriously doubt it will work well for voice, too many reencapsulations and “hops”, but there’s nothing to lose trying.
It will work. But probably not well because of latency.
The following is the diagram for my idea.
use an android phone wifi-tethering to internet.

That scheme will surely fail, I mean, Voice will stutter, as you’re forcing the cAP to act both as a Wireless AP (for the iphone) and as wireless station towards your Android phone.
this can be overcomed by using a dual radio ap, like the hAP ac lite, this way you’ll connect the 2.4 (or 5GHz if available) radio to the android phone as wireless station, and the other as wireless AP for the iphone to connect.
Even with that, I seriously doubt Voice won’t stutter, have echoes, etc. SIP needs the straighter path to the server, and even with this, problems may arise depending on the routers traversed, NAT, Mobile operator, etc.
At first, I think the USB can support USB tethering, but find out that it support power 5V input.
Is my CAP lite demage, or it should support Android USB tethering?
