VPLS Tunnels (MPLS static and BGP advertised) on RB750GL

I have been trying to create a bridged environment across ether5 of 3 RB750GL routers. (I eventually want to get to about 5 sites with this config)
I followed the directions here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:MPLSVPLS and had OK results (after working through my transport MTU issues… that was FUN!). I was showing MPLS full mesh and some VPLS tunnels usually coming up. I could get the VPLS tunnel from R1-R2 and R2-R3 every time. Getting R1-R3 working required rebooting either R1 or R3, hard to predict.

I then tried converting BGP based vpls. http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:BGP_based_VPLS

At this point, R1 and R2 are working fine. R3 hasn’t worked much at all. I’m not sure what I might be missing at this point. Any suggestions?

Found it! After several days of working on it, I realized that the Bridges created defaulted to RSTP instead of ‘none’. Changing that seems to have resolved it.

I may still have some transport MTU issues, however. I can get to google over the remote link… but any page more convoluted seems to time out or wait indefinitiely.

OK, I think this is resolved now. There was some sort of issue with the fiber link from an RB260GS to a media converter feeding the downstream switch. The 750GL works when plugged straight into the RB260GS.

Hello, I have the same problem in my opinion . I have a RB1100 connected to two RB260GS ( including optical fiber ) and then a NetMetal5 ( AP -bridge ) that brings my signal to a remote location with another Netmetal5 ( ST -bridge ) . Between the two NetMetal I get by MTU 1560 packages . But from between AP and my RB1100 Netmetal achievement not spend more than 1500 of MTU. The VPLS tunnel is active but I can not spend larger packages MTU 1474. The RB260GS fail an MTU greater ?
