While studying the Mikrotik system, I tried to configure a VPN via Quickset.
I already had a local network with DHCP working, but after checking the option everything stopped working.
As a temporary measure, trying to at least recover access to the network via Mikrotik, I made all the ports bridged and it started working again.
Could anyone tell me what VPN Quickset does exactly and how to undo it step by step?
There are 2 most advised ways to recover from Quickset mishap:
1- reset to default and start over
2- reset to default and don’t touch quickset ever again after using it once.
There is a 3th option for more seasoned users … never use Quickset.
Agree with never using QuickSet. However, your you have a backup from before you used QuickSet? If not, you hopefully just learned something. Always make sure you have a backup before making major changes. Backup and Export is even better.
Safe Mode would likely also have saved your bacon.
None of that helps after you already messed up…
