vpn same subnet

Hi, i have a problem, i have to create a tunnel to link 2 sites with the following LAN subnets:

site1 - rb750 - 192.168.0.0/16
site2 - rb750 - 192.168.50.0/24

Normally i would create pptp interfaces and add static routes on both rbs but in this case one subnet is a subnet of the other!
Can anyone help me?
Thank you.

Use EoIP over ipsec. It let’s you bridge them as a layer two.

That sounds like a huge subnet though.

But then i’ll have 2 pc, one in site1 and one in site2 with the same ip address! (ex. 192.158.50.6)
Could this become a problem?

Well if course..

sorry i don’t understand, so how can i solve this?

I mean… you can’t really solve that problem. You can’t assign the same IP to multiple computers on the same network.

So i think there’s no solution…

site1 - rb750 - 192.168.0.0/16

efaden hinted at it. Do you really need 65,000 ip addresses on that localnet?

+1… 65,000 addresses is a little crazy.

no there are 500/600 hosts but another person configured that /16 (i agree it’s a stupid configuration).
Now i can’t ask to change the ip configuration of all the hosts, someone could kill me!
It’s more simple to change the site2 subnet…

site 2 → 10.0.0.0/24
