vpn server old ip cloud to new ip cloud address.

i have an rb2011 that i am using to accept incoming vpn connections from my clients routerboards for remote support (in case i cannot connect direct with winbox.)
as rb2011 shows his age i want to upgrade to a new one. propably hap ac2 or hex s.
the problem is i have to connect to every customer routerboard and change l2tp client to connect to my new routerboard ip cloud address.
i know that i can keep turned on old rb2011 and keep updating this ip cloud address. but what if my rb2011 dies ?
maybe someone else has a better idea!!!

bump up as i still havent come up with a sollution.
is it possible to update old routerboard cloud ip with new routerboard cloud ip public address?

I don’t think there is an easy solution for what you have now. MikroTik’s DDNS hostname is based on device’s serial number and you can’t transfer that.

You can avoid this problem next time, if you point CNAME record .yourdomain.tld to DDNS hostname and use that, instead of using DDNS hostname directly.
