I think to try mikrotik, but have a huge question which will make imagination of mikrotik for me.
Very important thing is pppd. I know about a linux pppd, and how it implemented there, and how it does NOT give to work with ip level of traffic which going through the router (I mean userspace. In kernel of course.. but why not implemet or port negraph instead of reimplementing the pppd. CS) . Question are simple - has mikrotik a functionality to give the radius server kind of traffic which going through the ppp with the counters for each kind of traffic like an internal/external. It was first feature I needed. 2th are shaping of the traffic upon ipv4 level, will be nice to work with it via some api which will help to work with asynchronous queues.
Don’t think mikrotik has any of this features. Anyway I must be sure.
