VRFs, ROUTING-TABLEs, ROUTE-MARKERs

Hi all,

I am trying to get various things to work on CCRs but struggling. I am trying to translate my knowledge of CIsco into Mikrotik and trying to find the equivalent!

Objective:

  1. Use a single CCR device
  2. Have 4 completely separate routing domains (equiv of VRF-lite on Cisco) - which permit overlapping IP ranges
  3. Have BGP peers running within the VRFs like “address-family ipv4 vrf CUSTOMER_A”
  4. Assign 802.1Q sub-interfaces to specific VRFs like “interface g0/0.101 \ ip vrf forwarding CUSTOMER_A \ encapsulation dot1q 101”

I am clicking and hoping but nothing really seems to make sense. I see VRF mentioned in multiple places in the WebFig. I also see route-marking. I also see route-tables. I also see BGP instances.

Is there a clear wiki/instructions somewhere that explains when/where to use these within Mik and the Cisco equivalents? Tall order, I know.

Thanks, Brixo.

Just accurately read this:
