VRRP and ARP

Hello

i have a redundant router setup with two CCR1016-12G. VRRP is configured with a virtual IP of 10.11.12.2/30

They are connected (through an HP Aruba Switch) to an edge Router (CCR1036-8G-2S+), which is the default Gateway 10.11.12.1/30

VRRP works. After a few seconds slave becomes master. But it takes an additional 20-30 seconds until connectivity is restored.
My guess is that the ARP cache of the edge router is the culprit. During the master-slave switch, the edge has 10.11.12.2 with two macs in ARP and it takes a while until the invalid one disappears.

Any suggestions?

thx for the reply, but it doesn’t seem my issue is part of the linked thread.
The issue isn’t flapping interfaces. It just takes a “long” time after a legit master/slave switch until upstream is reachable again.

Hi,

Can you try with /29 instead of /30 ? And use /32 on the vrrp interface?
