I am investigating if VRRP will work in our situation. I have been reading through the older posts and have seen where VRRP is more suited for multiple ISPs. Our situation is we want to have hardware redundancy in case of hardware failure. We are not worried about our Internet going gown (OSPF to multiple connections, including fiber and Licensed Wireless). However, we are worried about a router going dead. Right now we have a cold spare that we fire up on a schedule and update rule changes, etc. from the last time.
Is their an implementation of VRRP which will work in this situation?
