Vypress Chat between two private LAN

hi,

I have two LAN network with two hotspots , i would like my user to comunicate each other by using Vypress Chat software , so please let me know that how i can do source /destination natting. Vypress chat using 8167 default port, and also let me know that, is it udp or tcp?? note: and i donot wanna share any other port between those two Different subneted Lan
Thanks

I have also the problem with vypress chat, I have three interfaces(Wlan1, Wlan2, Eth3), these interfaces are bridged and they are in the same subnet. I use masquerade for each ip(no other rules in NAT settings, maybe some settings is missing for allowing local communication - but don´t know what). The problem is that people can play games, connect to other computers(if sharing is enabled) betweend themselves, but problem is communicate using BorgChat or VypressChat, people can´t see each other.

how does this chat work, is there a central server? if not - how do the chat programs know where the other users are?

if you don’t want to bridge the networks together, i don’t see how you could make this work.

afaik, VypressChat uses multicast. so look at v3.0 and PIM

No Internet connection and no server required! Incredible, but the feature-packed Vypress Chat does not require a dedicated server or any sort of Internet connection! So, you may start saving money and enforce your office security just by cutting Internet-based messengers from your office network and moving to this Chat.
Vypress Chat optimized for local networks and uses all advantages of such target: with well-toughed hybrid architecture that combining IP Multicast and direct TCP connections our software offers reliable, fast and fail safe private instant messaging and chatting solution for business needs. DHCP-based, peer-to-peer Windows AutoNetworking, IPv6 and even legacy networks with IPX/SPX protocol — every type of networks is supported automatically!

The same problem is with borgchat. Or do you know any communicator that works under routeros network(I have lan bridged)

rado3105, did you try ROS v3 and its multicast features?

We have a network with a few mk’s and we solved the problem switching the ip multicast (in vypress) to broadcasts >Options>Network Settings.

but it is only when you have bridged network, not routed. isn’t it?

yes this network is bridged

Any body solved the Vypress chat problem? It works perfect on a bridged system but I am busy changing my system to a routed setup. Dabbled a bit with the multicasting but could not figure it. Put a PC on the hotspot subnet and found that if you masquerade the CPE all data, it actually go from behind the CPE to the PC, which makes sense. It however does not go back, which also makes sense. Tried dstnat back. catch the package, just can’t get it to function. Must be a way? Maybe multicasting, but then you will have to do it both ways. Not in my expertise or the wiki.
