Region lower frequency upper frequency usable channels
USA 57.24 GHz 70.20 GHz 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
I’ve tried this on latest stable ROS 6.47.7 but even with region=usa channels 5-6 (66960, 69120) are still not supported in winbox or CLI.
Is this only supported on devices sold in the US?
Is the documentation wrong and only channels 1-4 are available?
Or is the documentation correct but was updated too early and channels 5-6 may be supported soon?
Yes I know about 66000 but it’s not really an extra channel, part of it overlaps with channel 4.
I’d like to get some extra PtMP range with lower attenuation on channels 5-6.
Are you sure it is really the chipset and not just the drivers in RouterOS?
Or some FCC certification issues prevent unlocking these channels?
Channels 5 and 6 have been available in the US for a long time, would someone design chips that don’t support them?
Why does https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/W60G#Regions still mention channels 5 and 6 then?
66000 looks like too round a number to be a real hardware limitation
Standard channel 1-6 center frequencies are all integer multiples of channel width (27…32 * 2160).
But the fact that 66000 (= 275/9 * 2160) can be set suggests the PLL synthesizer is more advanced (fractional).
