Hello,
I have 2 different ISP connections that I want to use in failover mode (DHCP and PPPoE) with a preferred connection.
The device I would be using to achieve this would be the hEX.
I found this guide https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=26476608
Not sure how to get it working without any NATing as I’m using another router behind the hEX.
The goal is basically to passthrough one of the 2 WAN connections and when preferred connection (dynamic DHCP) goes down switch to the secondary (PPPoE) connection.
hEX should just do WAN 1 DHCP and WAN2 PPPoE then passthrough WAN IP.
I know this is not something advanced to do but I’m not used to Mikrotik devices and generally I am just a sysadmin without much networking background.
This is just for a home setup btw, don’t worry ![]()
