WAN interface bandwidth is greater than LAN interface

Dear Team,

I have a Mikrotik router CCR1009 installed in my network. I served 200Mbps for approx. 300 clients. But there is a problem that WAN interface RX is greater than LAN interface TX and it is too much different sometimes. At that time internet speed goes down.

In /tool/torch when I see the traffic with source-IP only then it shows some IP’s RX rate is too much high like 10Mbps or 20Mbps. but I din not assign IP to my client more than 1Mbps. For this problem internet speed become slow also.

How can I prevent it?

Hi,
You should analyse the traffic. From what you explained, it sounds like there might be an attack on your router.

  • You should filter and drop all unnecessary traffic from your WAN.
  • Check Tools → Profile to see how your CPU utilisation is.
