I found a bug in the firmware while trying to figure out why DHCP client on wlan interface does not work.
My Groove (latest firmware) is setup as CPE/router and used as WiFi booster on my boat. It has a DHCP server on lan1 interface and DHCP client on wan1 interface.
I check the wan1 interface mode when Groove is not connected to an AP. Let say, it’s “station_peudobridge”. I change it to “station”, click “Apply” then click on “Connect” and immediately the wan1 interface mode gets changed back to “station_peudobridge”! It literally changes in front of me in the interface properties window!
Now, the Groove connects and does not get an IP address. But… if while still being connected to the AP I change the wan1 interface mode to “station” again and click “Apply” then Groove gets an IP after a few seconds and everything is fine until I click “Disconnect”.
The wan1 interface mode is now “station”. I click on “Connect” and immediately the wan1 interface mode gets changed back to “station_peudobridge”!
It appears that somehow in a process of connecting the wan1 interface mode reverts to “station_peudobridge” and it messes up the DHCP client.
This is very frustrating to save the least. Have anyone else seen this issue and what might be causing it?
