I seem to be having an issue with the WAN port on my routerboard. I’ve owned this product for a little under a year and it’s been working fine for the most part. I recently moved my desk so I disconnected my modem (SURFboard SB6121) and router (RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN). When I attempted to boot the router it gets stuck at “routerboard configuration.” Here are some of what I’ve done and why I think it’s a WAN port issue.
- I unplugged the cable from the WAN port and rebooted the router and it booted fine.
- I plugged the cable into the WAN port after successfully booting the router but it would never get an IP address (checked from Webfig).
- I’ve tried to reinstall the latest RouterOS “stable” version using the method outlined. here.
- I’ve tried to reinstall an earlier version of RouterOS using the same method mentioned above.
- I’ve tried resetting the configuration.
At this point, I am at a loss about what I can try. Has anyone experience this issue before or can help guide me in the right direction? I’d hate to buy another piece of hardware if I don’t have to.
