WAN Port Issue?

I seem to be having an issue with the WAN port on my routerboard. I’ve owned this product for a little under a year and it’s been working fine for the most part. I recently moved my desk so I disconnected my modem (SURFboard SB6121) and router (RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN). When I attempted to boot the router it gets stuck at “routerboard configuration.” Here are some of what I’ve done and why I think it’s a WAN port issue.

  1. I unplugged the cable from the WAN port and rebooted the router and it booted fine.
  2. I plugged the cable into the WAN port after successfully booting the router but it would never get an IP address (checked from Webfig).
  3. I’ve tried to reinstall the latest RouterOS “stable” version using the method outlined. here.
  4. I’ve tried to reinstall an earlier version of RouterOS using the same method mentioned above.
  5. I’ve tried resetting the configuration.

At this point, I am at a loss about what I can try. Has anyone experience this issue before or can help guide me in the right direction? I’d hate to buy another piece of hardware if I don’t have to.
