I would like to pay someone for doing some management on my wireless network (via remote).
I need a set of firewall code writen
Would like to discuss if I should switch my network to wds and explain to me how it can be done.
I have already read the instructions, I still can’t figure it out. I don’t have time to muck around any longer. Either I find some help or I will need to switch to another vendor in which I can get some managed help.
I will close/delete this topic once If I find someone.
Why is it, that MikroTik does not offer a more customer oriented support service.
I know that there is a $250/month phone support contract available. But it is only available during the night time, my time. It would be good to expand those hours, and maybe others from around the world might be able to hire your service.
The other criticism I have, and I hope Mikrotik takes this as constructive, is that the Reference Manual needs a lot of improvements. The organization of the manual needs improvement. All feature and definitions for every field need to be added. The examples on the manual are in some cases too basic and do not show the use of the more interesting features of the OS.
The email support that is available to customer who bought products from Mikrotik directly, has solved several problems that I have had. Luckily the problems could wait, because at an email response a day the solution to the problem took over 20 emails. That support ticket took one month to be solved. This level of support is not appropriate for ISPs that make a business of routing packets.
I have a support contract with CISCO from a 7200 router that cost about $2000 per year. I get to call CISCO 24 hours a day 7 days a week and talk to an engineer that can help me solve the problem in minutes. I do not think it is fair to compare MikroTik with CISCO, as each serves a different market. But it would be good to see MikroTik better their support strategies. And maybe even the MikroTik community of users can help organize a better support strategy, and the rewrite of the manual.
