This product is awesome, I would like to know what is in the development road map simply as we are in the process of deciding on our NMS of the future..
Currently we are looking at the following..
Opennms
JFFNMS
Nagios
ServersAlive
OSSIM
The Dude
Adventnet
So far the dude is coming top on the staus monitoring side due to its mapping capabilitys.. but this is where i need to know which way it going to grow.
Areas that would be a great and needed improvement.
The ability to split polling and reporting on to different machines. A good way to start would be to see the status of another DUDE server that is shown in a map..
mySQL support for status and report information.
Security Groups based on maps and devices, this is so different customers can login and for example only see there network.
Deepler level event relationship, i.e tree structured dependancys down to a service level, for example if one server is running dns and smtp the failure of the DNS service will have a different effect to other servers than the failure of SMTP. i.e a Hotspot cannot redirect without DNS where as it can without SMTP. The way maybe to do this is to create a dependany group and depend on that group.
Just my thoughts so far, but a excellent product.
Monitoring 500 devices so far and growing.
