wAP ac / cAP ac: no 2 streams with 80MHz?

Hello,

we have different current Laptops with e.g. Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 But also some older devies which all have 802.11ac adapters and support for 2x2:2 or even 3:3:3.
The devices connect to the cAP ac with maximum 1 stream at 80 MHz. No 2 streams at 80MHz. They connect with 2 streams with 40MHz without no problems, though.
I tested this with different cAP ac devices. The notebooks stood right next to the cAP ac. Ceee is enabled, both chains are activated on the cAP AC. I run those in CAPSMAN mode.
Does anyone know what problem there might be?

Regards

Update: I tested with AVM Fritz!Box 7490 and all devices connected with 80MHz at 2 or 3 streams.
Update 2: Same problem with wAP AC. Not 2S@80MHz. 2S@40MHz and 1S@80MHz work. What configuration error might I have? I´m running 6.43.4 on CAPSMAN controller and CAPs.
Update 3 Setting :/caps-man configuration name… tx-chains=0,1,2 rx-chains=0,1,2 doesn´t help. Still 1 stream at 80 MHz, only.

So, let´s summarize it:

  • 2.4GHz:
    20MHz@1S works
    20MHz@2S works

  • 5.0GHz:
    20MHz@2S works
    40MHz@2S works
    40MHz@3S works
    80MHz@1S works
    80MHz@2S doesn´t work

So, if someone has a working configuration, could you please post it?

Update: The problem also exists with RouterOS 6.44.3. Is there any CAPSMAN default setting which will prevent clients to use 2 streams@80MHz?

I have a large network deployed with lots of hAP AC2 with CAPsMAN and I have no such problems!

P.S.
You ask for AC models only - my mistake! But with old version of ROS about 6.42/3.XX stable , there is no such problem i mean ?!

Here as well.
CAP AC can use 80Mhz 2S for RX but for some reason, it could only use 80Mhz 1S for TX.
Using 6.44.3.

wAP AC - no described issues here.

P.S. multiple stream won’t give you much though - it’s the weak side of Mk
