wAP ac IP configuration

Hello first of all.

As I needed ac-able APs, I decided to get two of these babies:

Now I’m a bit confused, as my common APs (two Drayteks atm) just get their IPs through DHCP of my Router (IPfire) as well as the clients connecting to them. My problem is - the wAPs get their IPs aswell but there’s always a second IP range for the wireless clients. All I want is the wireless clients connecting to one of the wAPs getting their IPs of the IPfire as well as the wAPs, so same IP range, no different handled by the wAPs. Is there a simple solution for this that I missed or isn’t that meant to work out of the box for this APs?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Tom

I don’t have any of the wAP units, but I’m assuming they are all defaulted just like the rest.

By default they are configured as a router. You will want to log in to it, remote all of the filter & nat rules. Then put ether1 and wlan1 / wlan2 into a bridge. Then change the DHCP client to use the bridge interface. Also, disable the DHCP server.

I think you can use QuickSet to do this for you, but I’ve never really used that. I like doing it all manually.
