I’ve got the older - wAP ac LTE kit powered via PoE from a MT AP inside my boat (inland waterway’s no nasty salt to deal with) and it’s been excellent, although occasionally it will cut out and on investigation turns out the Ethernet port stops TX/RX data, a bit of a wiggle will get it going again. I thought this was the cable, I’ve tried other cables - same problem. I’ve tried re-flowing the solder to the socket pins on the circuit board inside the router but no change… with any amount of cable wiggling the power stays on though. Any suggestions, perhaps another location on the board to look at?
You not write that situation is resolve after some time and you can grab logs from incident or not ?
Maybe at wAP create own netwatch who will be enable logs to write at disk when loosing connection to main router ?
-Running PoE from 240v > 24v adaptor
-Resetting wAP config
-Using a new network cable from my laptop to wAP and 240V > 24v adaptor and different PoE injector
All these fail, it’s a mechanical fault in the board mounted socket I think and I cannot repair that here.
if you grab it from roof to you and power it at 1m PoE 24V and works stable then you know it’s not device problem but power. By power at short cable you can check if problem is a internal Ethernet port/socket or not.
I write about 230V AC (in Poland we not have 220V) to 48V PoE - this can be used and provide better stability of 24V.
Yes, that’s exactly what I’ve done, powered it from a 24V PoE supply (the wAP accepts 9-30v) with a 1m cable and it fails. Now I need to know about anternnas for the wAP LTE6 kit… see me other post
