Wap ac lte routeros reinstall with linux netinstall-cli question

Hi

First i am writing this on phone as I have turned off wifi so only ethernet port is up. Please bear with my thanks!

I am trgeometry dash subzeroying to install routeros-arm-6.45.7.npk using netinstall-7.14.3 on debian.

I connect the ethernet cable to the router’s eth1 port.

I disable the other nic (wireless card) using sudo up link set dev wlp5s0 down

Then I run sudo ./netinstall-cli -r -a 192.168.88.1.routeros-arm-6.45.7

(Yes I know there are later versions of routeros. I want to install this one thanks!)

I press and hold the reset button on the router, then connect the power. I wait for the usr led to light up, then flash, then turn off.

Various things happen (I don’t want to type it all out as I am on phone and the router is connected to my laptop), but netinstall appears to hang on the following

Len:407065Detected client architecture: arm
Sending and starting Netinstall boot image…

Currently this has hung here for more than an hour, so I assume it has hung but I don’t actually know so I am leaving it for a while in case it is just very slow.

I will say the ethernet port on my laptop ip address is set to 192.168.88.2/24 gateway 192.168.88.1.

But netinstall sees the router which should tell you the up addresses are set right.

Any ideas? Is it hanging or is it just slow? Am I doing something stupid thar is causing it not to work? I could install virtualbox and a will doesn’t is but would prefer not to.

Thanks in advance

From my notes

.//netinstall-cli -a 192.168.88.3 routeros-[ARCH]-[VERSION].npk
add -r to reset config
