WAP-R ac + EP06: continues SIM failure

I have daily/hourly SIM failure now with a WAP-R ac and EP06.
In theory EP06 should have nothing to do with it (SIM is in the WAP), but you never know.

Any idea how to debug this or where to look for?

  • mechanical issue? (SIM connector, or SIM thickness?)
  • ROS SW problem?
  • EP06 SW issue?

I do some USB power reset of the EP06 and mostly that solves the issue, but only for a coupe of hours…

The WAP-R runs 7.1beta2 and EP06 in MIBM mode, all this sits outside high up there so ideally remote debug preferred :slight_smile:

Most probably is a mechanical issue on SIM connector.

Try use that EP06 by few hours in USB WWAN adapter to check if that problem will be the same like when lte module was with MikroTik.
You reach sure that is related or no with RouterBoard !.

I unmounted the device and put scotch on the back of the SIM.
No more problems for now.

Was mechanical/connection problem so far.
I hope this work around is doing it

sometimes the transparent office tape can fix sim card :slight_smile:
Of course tape at not-electrical site :slight_smile:
